Picture Purged
I think I want one, especially for the gym. Any idea where I can get a reasonably masculine one? I'm not looking for something made of steel, but this pic represents the majority of what I've found.
Picture Purged
Hi i have a picture of my two favourouts they are so cool, really ideal for the gym because it keeps your hair out of your eyes i go for the black or white ones.
Wow I didn't realize they are circular in shape!
The ones my daughter wears are semi-circular, although she does also have garlands which are a complete circle (with trailing ribbons!!!)
I think that alice bands are probably best suited for hair that's just on the shoulders. Also, I haven't seen guys with them in the US, although I suppose Beckham has made them more popular back home in the UK.
The media over here were interested in Beckham's alice band, but I don't think they called him a poof or anything, they just let him get on with it, of course it was big news, but no one really made any comment. But now he's shaved his head he looks like his head has intercepted a few coconuts, heh heh:p
I just bought one the other day actually!.... but mines black metal, tho I could have gotten a plastic one. Got mine on ebay, tho I live in the uk, where they can be found by searching for "david beckham alice band" to bring up the male ones.... which may seem a bit wierd if you're from the USA but thats just how they're known here.... I did an extensive web search and didnt find anything else... alternatively you could look in a womans accessories shop like "Claires" if you have them stores there..?
around my area alot of guys who cant wear a tail yet use bra bands...in my opinion its more masculine looking than the alice bands.I used to wear a bra-band when playing sports n such things...i would also see alot of guy in my school wearing them. I donno about tour area but in mine there are little gift shops that sell these bands for a dollar..you can also adjust the tightness of it.
Hello Pale Hunter,
Wherever did you find that one you pictured? :-) My favorite purple fluff on springs headband from the signature picture broke in an ill-advised attempt to get a photo of my unusually large headed boyfriend sporting it. Your photo looks like a suitable replacement (for the headband, not the boyfriend, though you do look cute). ;-)
For your own head you might peruse the hair stuff aisle at the grocery or drugstore. Near the ponytail holders there are usually some sort of plain headbands.

Oh, and I have had quite a good time giggling in the storytime corner at your site. Thank you for the entertainment.
I got that picture from here ---> http://www.lady2B.com
Why was I shopping at a store called Lady 2B? Because these are the times we live in... times when a man must wade through acres of Lindsay Lohan posters and "super star belly rings" just to get the hair accessories he needs. I don't even know who Lindsay Lohan is, but apparently the kids love her. Someday I'll be able to pick up a headband, pack of smokes, and maybe some nails all in one stop.
Glad you liked storytime cornet, btw. I've been grinding my brain into paste with the GRE's so only now can I hope my creative inspiration will reemmerge. I hate not updating stuff....
I know the feeling - I get my hair bands from 'Head Girl' !!
So why aren't there companies, or at least better known ones, targeting men's long hair accessories? My first stop in looking for headbands online had been Goody. They make the elastics I purchase so I figured they would have a simple headband. Although the packaging is gender neutral on those elastics I was a bit confused to see even they were not listed in the section for men. It only had combs, brushes and a mirror in that department. The section began with the phrase "men- every tool you need to get the look you want" but it sure did not live up to the claim. For a hair stuff company that does appear to target men with the black, tan, and forest green elastics pack I thought it odd they did not mention that in the mens' part of the site.
Looking over the hairglove site last week reminded me of this too, there were no photos of men wearing their product on the site. My thought is that perhaps women who make up the majority of purchases of hair accessories might be thought to lose interest in a product that is aimed at men too. Even less charitably, I pondered that it might be some companies are not interested in their male customers and prefer to present a short haired male worldview.

hi. I wear one all the time as during the warm weather it is good to be able to get my growing out hair of my face. This one is a plain black one about 10mm in width

So what do you think. Also could this be worn outside and do you guys who wear them do so outside and if so, what is the reaction.
I sometimes acheive a similar effect with a bandana, for practical retention purposes only, not aesthetics. It's a lot bulkier and more obvious than the bra band, but more versatile, I also wear them as a headband or skullcap.
