Hi, I feel kinda odd typing this but I would just like to say hi and that as a ickle rock princess I would like to thank all you rock god type men out there who grow your locks and give cheap thrills to girls like me.
Your welcome. My locks are going to grow all the way to my waist. I can't believe I'm doing this but I have decided short hair is not for me. Most of the guys with waist length hair look incredible, I wonder why more men aren't growing their hair. Peer Pressure likely
Hi what's going on I have always wanted long hair. Now I finally have a job thar permits it. My hair is currently 2 inches past my chin all one lenghth. I think I want waist lenghth hair I don't know I just love it.
Well personally as someone who used to play guitar when I had long hair (the fact that I now have short hair and don't play are NOT correlated!), I can tell you that....
it feels grear!
Nothing better than getting into a fast solo with your hair flying around you, or 'getting into' the music, a state which long hair can assist in
Indeed I think there is a primal connection between long hair and music, yet it can also be sensual/an or romantic.
Just my personal view.
I'm just curious, is there any particular reason guys with long hair is so popular with music artists or vice-versa?
BTW I am only an avid music listener. By day I am a computer help desk technician.
Hi. I'm an extreme music-hobbyist, and I've thought about this. With hair nearly down to my elbows, which has been growing for nigh-on 4 years, I can say that I've been into music much longer than long hair. I'm a fan of all styles of music, but my major interests lay in the fields of classical, metal, and jazz. I was into metal around the time where I grew my hair long, but one event did NOT influence the other. I started playing classical music around a year and a half later (long story), and picked up jazz and world music along the way.
What IS the connection that is so often noticed between long hair and musicians, or longhairs being musicians? Both types tend to think outside of the box, so to speak. At the risk of making another broad generalization to add to the one(s) I've already made, you could say that both types of people can be, at times, HIGHLY eccentric. Correlatively, there are many eccentrics (musicians or not) that have long hair. I think it hearkens back either to the time in Western music history (1500's-1800's) where it was fashionable for men to have long(er) hair, or (in the case of rock/metal), going back to the primitive "cave-man days," if you will.
In conclusion, you could say that there are a number of parallels drawn between hair length, music, and the resulting eccentricities, but there exists no obvious causal relationship...
Again, just a bunch of demented ramblings. :-D
You're most welcome!
I haven't been here in a long time, but I do like to check in now and then. And YES -- my hair is still long -- wouldn't want it any other way.
Gotta' go, I hear my Strat calling...
Well thanks :-) Hahahahaha.
One of the reasons I decided to grow my hair is simply to have more fun in life e.g headbanging to metal and stuff.
My tastes in music range, are similar to Michael Odle's - Classical, Metal and Jazz. Been playing violin since age 8, I can play just about every popular instrument there is.
I love the free spirit of jazz and the improvisation used in it's music. I enjoy classical music in the baroque era (1600 - 1750) and also modern/contemporary compositions. And metal, I love thrash metal! Hair isn nearly 6 inches long so far, been growing for 6 1/2 months.
Well in return we have to thank girls like you for liking long hair :)
Thanks for giving your voice.

Well thank you. Although I dont think there is a connection between hair music. I didnt start growing it out because I love metal. I started growing it out because I hated my short hair and wanted to try something different. Hopefully my dream of attaining a professional metal band (named Skullhammer) will come true...
