funny thing is, i realized afterwards there was no more conditioner left. so i had to use shampoo. is this ok?
oh and i won't have to worry about my hair smelling like vinager correct?
how can anyone but you know what you have to worry about?
you diluted it correctly, right?
FWIW mine don't really smell like vinegar after rinsing

Most people, including myself, use conditioner after the rinse, because it can be a bit harsh for different peoples skin, especially if it hasn't been diluted enough. I use 2 tablespoons of Organic Apple cider vinegar added to half a pint of warm water, then use conditioner afterwards. Don't use white vinegar! I think you should go down your local supermarket/shop and buy some conditioner right now, cause it might smell. Although I have heared stories of people using beer instead of conditioner and it didn't smell for them. If you think it's starting to smell, just wet your hair and apply conditioner and leave for a couple of minutes. I just went to ASDA and bought myself Aussie Mega conditioner and Loreal Kids Extra Gentle juicy grape conditioner. Hey, I'm no expert at this, but I've done it a few times and it works for me:)
what happens if you use white vinegar?
The functions of the various hair chemicals:
Shampoo: strips dirty oil from scalp and hair (good), leaves pH of scalp incorrect (bad).
Vinegar: restores normal pH level of scalp (good).
Conditoner: adds clean oil to scalp and hair (good), may also contain manageability agents (controversial).
So... if you shampoo after the vinegar, it defeats the purpose of the vinegar and, in my opinion, leaves your scalp and hair in worse condition than leaving it alone. If I was out of conditioner I would not shampoo. I would either wear a shower cap or just rinse my hair with warm water to strip some of the dirty oil.
