Anyone know of a company I can order bands that don't make a crimp in your hair, preferably in the UK, but will consider overseas? I'm sure they're expensive, but that's not an issue.
I often see guys with super long hair around here, and a lot of them have a progressive wave going down their whole pony tail becasue of the band. I really don't want this to happen to me, or at least minimalise it.
BTW, regrowing my undercut's coming on. It's at about half an inch now. Been growing it for a month.
Thanks for any help recieved.

Haven't tried it personally (my hair isn't long enough yet), but Gollan recommended it.
i don't know, i will often just use a piece of hemp cord to tie it up if nothing else is available.
i hate having my hair pulled back too tighly, so i dont think it hurts my hair in any way (other than it really enjoys being loose :)

Do you mean the progressive wave you get from the front to the back of the hair when its loose after you have worn a ponytail?
If so then I find the best way to minimalise it is adjust the position of the hair band. I can't do this with a full tail (my hair is not long enough,) but I do this when wearing a half-tail. I gradually slacken the hair band off over the course of the day.
You can't really manufacture an elasticated hair band that won't cause this effect so your best off just buying half a dozen in the local supermarket. (Just avoid the ones with metal on them.)
Sorted

Na. I mean if you look at a pony tail, and nothing but the pony tail, it's got blatent waves all down it, but the hair that's infront of the pony tail hasn't. I've seen people with very straight and fine hair with this, and I'm almost certain this is because of tight bands.
Nichol, I am wondering if you may be describing the waves that result from hair being braided then undone. A ponytail elastic or other holder would not leave waves along the length but only where they were once placed. Take a look at the left side of hair in the photo that has waves from a braid in a very regular pattern. That could be what you are thinking of.
Elizabeth, who tried to find a male head of lovely hair to illustrate the waves but did not have anything suitable that I have permission to post
Basically that, yeah.

Not caused by a hair tie, but instead caused by braiding the hair. (Just incase it wasn't already clear.) :-)
I've got no idea if they're available in the UK or not, but I just got some nice bands made by Scünci. My scalp's rather sensitive to pressure, so I much prefer to use looser hair ties. The ones I got are loose, nice and soft, and also flat, apparently so they won't slip off as easily as round ones. I'm not too sure about that last part, but I haven't had one slip off yet, so I guess they work.
They have a website, I believe. *checks* Yep. *points down*
