What is the two week thing?
Also, my hair looks terrible from the side. Is this a bad phase? It is all even looking, I like it to have that "rounded, downward curve" look to it. This may be because I trimmed it square off in the back, don't know. Going to get it shaped soon, but I trust the dresser and it will still qualify as long.
I wonder if she can trim it to look like I left it alone, you know, like it grew from a short cut.
The two week rule is simply that if you decided to cut or otherwise change your hair, wait two weeks after you make that decision, and if you have any doubts about it, don't do it. It really helps keep things in perspective and prevent major mistakes. It's also good for lots of other things, too, I suspect.
And as for your hair, I don't believe I've seen a picture of it before, but even if it doesn't look the way you want it to on the side, eventually it'll grow and get to be the way you want it to be. Or at least, it'll grow and then you can trim and shape it to be the way you want it to be. Best thing you could probably do right now is just, simply, let it grow.
Also, there was a mention of a three week rule. Two weeks is the same as what you described, but when you have it cut, you only have it cut slightly, if your intention is to go bald. Then let one more week pass before finally having a buzz, that way, you might change your mind and wont be dissapointed compared to some1 who has had long hair and buzzed it all off after 2 weeks. These rules are a safeguard against dissapointment:p
stop looking at yourself for defects with such attention.
it almost seems as if you WANT it to be a "bad phase"... just don't worry and let it grow :)

If its all even, then your in a perfect position to leave it alone. It might look odd from the sides if its thick and still above shoulder length. If that's the case, just let it grow, a longer style will make it look better.
When you say you "like it to have that 'rounded, downward curve' look" Do you mean you have that look or you want that look?
But then you go-on to say you want it to like it had grown out "natural" this is a completely different look from the even rounded downward curve you describe.
I think you sound uncertain of the look you want, until you get this clear in your head stay clear of the siscors, otherwise you wont get the trim you want.
Sorted
Maybe it was just the way I had my hair cut short about two years ago, but every time I tried to grow my hair out, the hair would get progressively longer as it went around to the back of my head (bangs shortest, then sides longer, back longest). Also, when you grow your hair out "naturally," it has natural layers, and in the back will be longest in the very middle of your head, a little shorter closer to the ears.
These are the "curves" I described. I guess I miss that. I really DON'T want to cut it short and start over though. I think I'll just let it grow...
