Hey
I have a regular short haircut and I want to grow my hair long. But I have thick wavy hair and i have a feeling if I grow it out it will be totally out of control. I need some tips on products that will keep my hair from frizzing and getting out of control. I really dont want to use like pounds of gel on my hair to keep it down. I also dont know what to do for hair cuts. My friend said i should under-cut it once it gets long. I am clueless and i need some help. Thanx!

Excuse me, but if you are clueless what to do, why do you want to grow it out? There must be some look you're after.
Whatever you do man do not get an under-cut! Trust me on this, I had to learn the hard way wheb I grew mine out with it shaved under and eventually had to shave it all off

Just let it grow and see what its natural tendancy is. If the waves are tight and stay that way it might naturally curl. Then, because its thick, you can just develop ahead full of loose curls, whchich I think looks real good, if there is a certain density and abundance. Kind of the ancient classical God like look. If the waves are looser you can do rollers or perm the hair to obtain the curls just as well. I saw this look on aguy at work the other day and he had done some highlighting of his dusty colored locks and it looked fantastic, very macho. What color is your hair and are the waves tight or loose, just curious? Good luck and post a pic wahtever you do.
I saw a guy yesterday that had rather simply but impressively fashioned his thick, wavy hair. It must have been shoulder length, strawberru blonde and just starting to gray, and he simply combed his hair back, casped it at the back of his head with this turquois hair clip and then gathered the hair at the end of the ponytail with a scruchie. So the effect was that the ponytail had this great wavy, thick texture, under control.
Chris, once your hair grows out you could have your hair put in braids. It can certainly looks good if you're blessed with thick hair . Obviously your hair then would not be out of control or frizzing out all over. And you can leave the braids in for a few months with minimum effort. Until its long enough to braid, a lot of guys do cornrows, which also keep your waves managed and under control while its growing out.
