Hi, well basically I'll get straight to the point.
I believe the water company has added too much Chlorine to the water, as baths smell like a swimming pool! All the water including the drinking water in the kitchen smells of chlorine and therefore I must be washing my hair in heavily chlorinated water. Could this be a problem, as I know the damage chlorine can cause. I don't really know what to do, I asked my mam to ring them and find out, she said there's no need, they will stop it soon. So far i'ts been about 1 1/2 months. I have considered washing my hair in mineral water, but this could be expensive, but I'm not thinking about Evian or Volvic, more like ASDA Eaden Falls spring water, cheap stuff. What does the board think?
She said she won't phone them up, the's adiment there's no need, I think there is. A few other people near me are having the same trouble, maybe the whole area, do you think I should ring myself?
you can smell the chlorine thats messed I wouldnt drink that without it being filtered thats crazy.
Instead of buying water to wash your hair in you could try a showerhead mounted chlorine filter (URL below) I have one of them and they work really well, not only does cut down on the frizzy hair but it makes my skin less dry as well
Try filling a few pails or jugs (open to the air) and letting them set for a day. It's my experience (using chlorinated water for an aquarium) that the chlorine will disipate in that time. I know this may be a pain to do, however.
I hear you on that one. Sometimes it is so strong where I live you wouldn't believe it. Most of the time it can't be detected. When REALLY strong I have resorted to bottled water! (I don't want to swallow that junk.) Ah.............if only a mineral spring or brook were nearby.
As for hair damage, we all know Chlorine is no good for our hair. Having to use "bought water" can really mount-up in price. I would say use it (Bottled) on the days that the Chlorine odor is strongest or wait until the next day with hopes that the tap water is not so saturated with Chlorine that you can smell it all over the house.
On a lighter note: I am SURE the Women use it when at its worst and as I have said before...........look at their hair! The more caustic the better! :-) lol
LOL yea, they can get away with murder.
I think I will start using bottled water, I like the idea of it being natural water, and it gives me another good excuse to get on my bike and cycle to get the water:)
Although the kitchen water isn't too bad, but still abnormally chlorinated, the bath and sink water stinks to high heaven like a swimming pool. Plus my skin has felt really dry recently, and I drink plenty of bottled water, guess I'll just have to tip it over my head now lol
