I'm sure all of you have at least seen the crazy hairstyles supported by the characters of dragonball Z.
What do you think it would take for a Human to sport a hairstyle like this
I don't know if it could even be possible, but I do know it would take a crap load of hair gel and hair spray! LOL! ~Peace~ Blonde
Elmers glue...ud have to treat it like liberty spikes/a mohawk.... not the best of ideals but it would work.

I know this one would be completely impossible!

Wow, great topic, and technically not off topic because almost all of these characters have long hair. I am a big fan of DB-Z-GT
It would take tons and tons and TONS!!! of Hair gel.
I would stick to the Everyday Ponytail tradition though :)
lots and lots of gel
I dont know about that exact style but a couple of guys at my school had the long liberty spikes style, at least 7 or 8 inches. I asked one of them how they got it to stay up like that he said by using elmers glue. I can't imagine that'd be too good for the hair though.
BTW, women who compete in ballroom dancing also use school glue (like Elmer's) to paste their hair down really slick and make those elaborate curls on their foreheads.
First they would need their Brain removed to make way for all those spikes. It looks like he doesn't have a brain?
What a weird guy!:p
Ha I hadn't noticed that, it is quite funny when you notice though.
Ha ha ha ha ha! The PERFECT solution. :-}
Once saw a bumper sticker on a car which read: "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my Brains the most."
Hmmmmmmmm.........must of been this guys car. lol
LOL!!! Awesome sticker:)
That character really looks odd though, also he's got a split down his forehead, maybe he's been jumped on by some gang.
Poor sod
Maybe he's seen ME on a bad hair day. Yikes! :-o

I especially like Goku's hair when he is not a Super Saijin. Its awesome. This style would be impossible too.
Look at this nice black hair. I would love to have hair like this.
I don't think it's a question of having hair that would do that but rather an appliance of some sort be it a hat or molded structure like that have in the movie business (think of the Slim Jim guy or the Sims tv ads).
Punkers sport mohawks that can be pretty "tall" and the band Static-X had some pretty "upstanding" hair so gravity defying styles can be achieved (and clumped as those cartoons are somewhat reminiscent of dreadlocks) but more often than not such styles will, out of techincal necessity, need to be shorter in length to be accomplished.
Certain hair types that have an oval shaft and lots of kinks might be fashioned into similiar shapes (shorter cartoon styles) if enough effort was applied and could be bleached/colored to match but still probably wouldn't look like that convincing of a copy.
Which leads us back to the head gear as the best way to look like a cartoon.
I am actually a huge fan of dragonball z and I write short stories about very similar circumstances.
Seriously, their hair stays up when it's blonde because of a super saiyan's power, but when it's norma... lots of gel!
Whoosh!!!
If you had shorter hair that was curly and you tried that, you'd probably look like Kramer from Seinfeld. :D
If you don't want to use up entire cans of hairspray of gel, it probably would take the insertion of many "ratts," meaning additions of balled hair or sponges or fabric, around which you would wrap long hair. You'd probably have to insert wire, which you would use to affix the ratts to your head. It would almost have to be a scalp-fitting wire helmet type deal, thru which you'd have to pull locks of your hair, rather evenily divided.
Ratts used to be popular, used by women to fluff up their hair for those early 1900s Gibson styles, and previously, in the mid-late 1700s, they were used to support updos that were a foot tall, or used in their wigs. They may have been used to create the 1960s/70s beehives, in all their stiff glory. For a modern reference, if you've seen Shrek 2, think of the Fairy Godmother's hair.
To create the multiple pointy hairstyles in DBZ, etc., the ratts would have to be fairly small and match the wearer's hair color. Then you can be a banana bunch head, too. ;-)

I was watching the movie "Escape from New York" last night and the little crazy guy that is the King of New York's right hand man has hair that comes pretty close to this picture. You might check it out.
