I've just had a repeat performance of the same compliment twice in 24 hours, and thought I'd share. It was cool. I spent a while yesterday driving through some small towns in our area, and stopped in a little antique store, just browsing. I was the only one in the store besides the woman who owns it. She approached me after I had been there for a while and said: you have the most beautiful hair. I laughed (delighted) and thanked her. She continued: I bet you get tired of people telling you that. And I bet it's always women.
Interesting after comments. I told her that I appreciated it as often as I received it: "after all, I chose to grow this hair."
Today, my wife came in from a meeting with a colleague that we both work with in education. She said that this woman had commented to her: "I just love Robert's hair!".
For all the hassles we tend to get, it's nice to get some kind and affirming words.
Robert
That's so awesome dude. That would be the ultimate ego boost, if every day someone complimented me on my hair. I got to grow it longer,'m at 7 and half months.
I had many positive comments from ---- women. Many women don't have hangups, my past experiences are that alot of men are overdosing on testerone.... Maybe it's some kind of thing that they feel long hair is not masculine ?? who cares.. I know who I am and what I can do. MAny men have hangups, but who cares their problem. I like my long hair and I feel any man with long hair is independant to do as "they" choose.. I salute all fellow long haired men...

That's a great self-esteem boost for ya, Robert.
I was working drive-thru a few days ago (I work at Starbucks) and this woman who came through told me that I had beautiful hair(It was tied back at the time too). She was at least 5 years older than me and attractive, so it was a nice boost of confindence. I thanked her and went on saying that it's something that seems to either be loved or hated, with no middle-ground. She agreed, telling me just about every person she knows' opinions about male long hair.
It's nice when things like this happen.
That's great robert, its certainly nice to know its appreciated. Also a great self confidence boost.
I'm starting to receive these compliments with greater frequency too. Last week I was saying good bye to a colleague who does freelance work for our company, in typical spanish style we normally greet and say goodbye in the "two kiss" style. You know a quick continental peck on the cheek. Only this time she actually made a point of touching my hair and telling me how lovely it was. *blush*.
Like you I was well chuffed. :-)
Also even my mom is complimenting it, saying how nice it looks, so result all around ;-)

Its nice when that happens. I occasionally receive complements on my hair - mostly from older women. I also receive a lot of questions (how long did it take to grow), and sometimes jealous comments (I wish I had hair like that).
It is encouraging!
