I am curious and can they be found in most stores or only in select ones or online?
Generally, those you buy through salons or beauty supply outlets like Ulta. The ones in the groceries and drug stores are modified dish washing soap, for the most part. Even the famous salon names like Tigi that are not sold in Safeway and other groceries are watered down versions of the salon variety. Yeah, you pay a little more by buying through a salon, but you get the quality your hair deserves, man. Josh
"Even the famous salon names like Tigi that are NOW sold in Safeway and other groceries are watered down versions of the salon variety." Sorry....
I have come to echo the believe that with shampooing, what is most harsh is not the shampoo but rather HOW you shampoo.

my basic advise would be to look at the ingredients, and if it contains more than a few items from plants, avoid it, especially if it contains stuff with fancy names, your hair doesn't need it.
just look for natural soap at natural health stores (either in liquid or bar form)
good luck
