Over the past year, I seen that my hair has been burning a whole in my wallet...meaning that for the past year, I have been buying the products I can find, and I'm slowly going broke. lol :)
My question I'm asking is:
How much on average do you spend on products to mantain your hair?
Thanks...can't wait to hear.
Lol too much recently, on average I guess about £30 a month. (45 Euros/ $50 US approx.) *blush*
I agree BUT Haircuts are not heap and what the hell the money is irrelevant to having good long hair.
Haircuts are not cheap, but when your growing your hair, do you really want to get it cut? :) I can't argue on the money point, we all want great hair.
Wow. hahaha... You beat me. Thanks for replying.
HOLY JUMPIN! man what in the world do you buy! thats around $600 a year man! i dont spend any money on hair stuff...get it all for free. Ü
free?? how's that possible? Does it fall off the back of a truck. j/k.
my mother is a hairstylist, i have a salon in my house! i just use the professional stuff, the stuff that YOU guys cant buy hahaha!
you can go into any salon and by the professional products...that's what I do.
In a month i get through 2 bottles of conditioner and shampoo. perhaps half a bottle of antifrizz serum... i guess i spend about £10.
Mark
That's pretty good.
Thanks for replying.
Great hearing so far...I forgot to post my answer too...
Every 3 months I go get a bottle of shampoo and conditioner, and pick up other stuff that is new...like a leave-in heat treatment or damaged leave-in treatment by Redkin. For each bottle I get, it's about 15 to 20 dollars (canadian). So, about 100 dollars every 3 months. In American, it's about 85? I have no clue the conversion rate for pounds or euros.
Not too much actually, about £3 on conditioner a month. I can make a bottle of Aussie moist last nearly a year!
Sometimes I buy another conditioner if I feel like it.
Every month I also buy 4 sachets of heat protecting serum to protect when starightening my hair - £1.50
So I guess about £4.50 a month:)
Just a wild guess, only about $15 to $20 (U.S.) per month, including shampoo, conditioner, jojoba oil, gel, and one extra vitamin supplement. Some of these I've just recently purchased for the first time, and they come in quantities that I estimate will last 6 months or so.
One great thing about cutting back the frequency of shampooing to avoid drying out hair, I average twice a week now instead of daily (71 % less often), which more than offsets the additional amount I use by having more hair (at least for now, anyway!).
This is especially cheap when considering I spent between $10 to $20 a month on haircuts, plus some of the above products anyway!
i wish you make sure all those products you spend your money on don't help destruction of the earth. (most of them do)
a few bucks every few weeks for soap. it's the same soap i use for body washing so it's not an additional expense.

About 70 dollars a month on products only.
I am definitely on the low end of the scale.
1 (large) bottle shampoo
1 bottle conditioner
1 package of ponytail elastics
0 haircuts/trims
Will last for ~months~.
Now if I add in the cost for monthly internet access to get all this hair advice, the price goes up. :-)
I have a Walgreens drug store about a mile from the apartment. They have some "bargain bin markdown" endcaps thats always full of haircare stuff! I got a bunch of Alberto vo5 hot oil kits that were marked down to .99 cents each. Huge bottle of LA Looks gel for .75 cents, beadhead foam mousse for .50 (the nozzle wouldnt spray on this one), so I soaked it in hot water, and voila, good as new! Don't overlook the markdown/bargain bins in your local drugstore. Top dollar products, for a fraction of the cost!
Hmmm, I dunno, I wouldnt like to put marked down price stuff in my hair, there's probably nothing wrong with it, but it might not be the best, at least when it's new and undamaged you're giving your hair the best possible treatment.
I have psychological problems then lol:)
Well, let's see...
-I go through about a bottle and a half of Aussie moist a month...but we'll say 2 just to round it off. That is under $3 a bottle but we'll say 3 to round it off.
-It takes about 2 months to go through a bottle of Aussie shampoo, at $3/bottle (to round it off).
-I use a bottle of Aussie 3 min. miracle about every month and a half to two months, at say $4/bottle (rounding it up).
-I get a trim by a professional in a salon once every 5 months or so at $25 (with tip). Let's say 2 1/2 times a year to round it up.
The total I get for total hair care per year is $188.50
This is $62.50 for trim maintence and $126 for all hair products.
This averages out to $15.70 per month.
Now let's see what short hair might cost:
Hair cuts every 3 weeks (many do it more often) at the discount shop is $8. Or $136 (rounded down).
Shampoo might be used more but we'll just say one bottle per month at the Aussie price of $3=$36.
Conditioner may not get used much if at all but is recommended depending on the length. Let's say 1 bottle every two months(Aussie price)=$18.
This totals out at $190 per year. This is more than long hair.
The cost of long hair is not a factor to me.
