Even *I* have MY limits. At this point, I'm thinkin' knee length, at most:
Whats it with these guys who don't cut their hair and wind up have 20 feet of length without washing or using conditioner that is unreal. I want to know what is their secret their terminal length is unreal.
dreadlocks hold the fallen hair too so they can get very long (not any more "dead" hair than the rest, all hair is dead)

Some people have hair that has no normal growth cycle, but just keeps growing. I understand that Crystal Gayle has this condition. Most of us could never do this, because it is a matter of genetics.
I'm thinking waist length. I didn't think I could do that at one time, but now I'm thinking I could get the longest parts to that length in a year, and in two years I could have it long enough to have it trimmed to that length.
That's an interesting point. Do the Guiness people require a comb-out, or do they maintain a separate category for dreadlocks?
In theory, you could cheat by saving all your sheds/cuts for 50 years, and then weaving them into one huge dredlock at the age of 70.
After posting my original (arguably inflamatory; sorry) comment, I started wondering about what I would consider max for myself. I think I'd have to say waste-length too. Any longer and I'd start having to worry about stuff I don't want to worry about--like where it goes when I have to sit down in a public restroom.
However, given my past tendancy to get sick of doing one thing; and changing my mind, I don't think I'll let it go that long. It'd take 3 1/2 more years at my current rate... actually, the very longest tip growing out the back of my neck is 10 inches above waste when I lean the right way... so maybe 2 years? Evenly trimmed waste-length is probably 3 1/2 though...
I think I could get to waist length in about 3 years. If 12 inches a year is my growth rate and I keep to it, but I'd probably end up with 11 inches as my hair doesn't grow bang on 1 inch a month.
If the only way for him to have hair this long is to keep it all matted up then its showing that it is too long for him to properly care for.
Yeech. It would be like someone wearing the exact same shirt or pants (or underwear?) for 6 years and never washing it.
I wonder if the Maury show producers are desperately trying to call him so he can be on the show.
ROFL You have a great sense of humor. Absalom
