Hello all. I run on occaison and use a headband. I haven't used it lately because I'm concerned it causes my hair to clump together and tangle. Are there any runners out there or anyone who can let me know of a good runner's headband to use that wouldn't cause my hair to tangle? I've been dealing with a clump of hair on the side somewhat close to the scalp that has been causing part of my hair on the side to stick out more. It's been rough the past 3 or 4 weeks but slowly but surely I'm getting it. Are there any good combs to get to help with detangling?
Thanks for your help!
I run when I have the time. Not that you could tell it by looking at me. But anyway what I have found that works the best is doing my hair up in a bun/knot type style and wear a cap, usually backwards. It also helps me if I get my hair a little damp before doing it up. Then when I get back from running I let my hair get completely dry before taking it down. And I have zero tangles. I actually do this when I'm going to be doing any outdoor activities, or when I know I'm gonna be sweating. If I didn't do this I'd never get all the tangles out. My uncle who runs more than I do and also has long hair does the same thing. Although he sometimes covers his up with a doo rag instead of wearing a cap.
I used a headband when my hair was only about 3-5 inches long. My hair still got in my face, though. Now that it is longer, 9 inches+, I use either a bandana and/or ponytail or some combination of the two.
