I have been comming back to this board on a daily basis and I just want to thank everyone for their encouragement. We longhairs(or in my case-soon to be longhair, again)have to stick together. There have been a lot of strides forward in longhair being accepted in the workplace and in society in general, but we still have a long ways to go.Nyghtfall,Walter,Paul,Longhaired Warrior,Andrew-you guys I especially want to thank! You 5 are the ones who responded to me and I feel like I've developed 5 new friends for life.
I have felt a little guilty about something though and I want to clear the air. It's about the comment I made to Mark Richards. Mark,if you read this,I'm sorry that I came on so strong about your brothers hair.I didn't mean to sound mean, and I didn't mean to tell you what to do,it's just that, for me I have been bemused by long hair since I was a child. But at that time I knew it was fantasy because my dad(whom I love very much-even if we don't see eye to eye on a lot of things, one of which is hair)used to make me get it cut when it got,to his marine standards, too long. When I would protest he would say "when you move out you can grow it so long you have to part it to take a dump, but as long as you're living in my house you're getting it cut"(I've cleaned up what he actully said).Later when I did move out,I didn't get it cut for about 3-4 years. It felt wonderful! anyway the point I think that I and, judging from the posts,a lot of the other guys are trying to say Mark is:be supportive of his decision. If this is a phase then he'll grow out of it.If not, then love him and his hair for that's a part of who he is.
One more big thanks is to Victor for creating such a great forum for all of us like minded guys.Victor, you're a prince among longhaired men! Take care guys.
