Do any of you older guys get yellowing in your gray hair? If so, what did you use to remove it?
And please, nobody tell me to dye it, that is simply not an option...
Hi William:
Look for shampoos with a purple tint to them; this is supposedly the color directly opposite yellow on the color spectrum and will cancel out any yellow tint. (Worked for me when I bleached my hair several years ago -- long before growing it out.) These products are usually marketed as for blond, bleached, white or gray hair. I know you can find it at Sally Beauty Supply, but other stores should carry them.
Cheers,
Jeremy
I found a Jirmack product, a conditioner formulated specifically for removing yellow from gray hair. I used it last night for the first time. Obviously it is too soon to see a difference in color, but I did notice that it was not nearly so good at smoothing my hair as the L'Oreal Vive conditioner.
You could take Human growth hormone suppliments, It can reverse aging and apparently even reactivate your hair colour again. I am searching into ways to increase my height, and although I don't need it this product yet, you may want to take a look...
There again you might like having gray hair, if so then this was irrelevent lol:)
No HGH pill will increase your hieght, you will need to take injectable(the real stuff) HGH, an endocrinologist can perscribe it to you. Also, if your bone age is pass the age of 16, HgH will not work for you. How tall and old are you if you don't mind me asking?
I'm 17 and 5ft 10 inches tall. Could you email me, my address is surferdude861@yahoo.com
That's not terribly small, I'd say say it's fairly average?
Why do you want to take something to boost your growth?
I have always, since the age of 12, wanted to make 6ft tall. I don't think I am asking for something unreasonable? Trouble is that when having my first computer at age of 12, the desk was barely comfertable then. As the years have gone on, I outgrew the desk and in the end, up until a few weeks ago, was suffering from severe back pains. So I figured I must have cramped and compressed my back up for so long (5 years) that my growth is being being interfered with. Also, I have recently grown wide, not fat, but filled out on the sides, like my hips and everything. Now I have a new desk, my back is slightly better. I have been walking a few miles everyday, keeping my body and neck straight, doing stretch excersises before bed and when I wake up. My biology teacher saids that someone my age will have about another inch in growth left before 21. I only want 2 inches, that's not much to ask? I heared if you can decompress your back, you can gain 2-3 inches height somehow. I am searching on the internet for drugs to increase my height, trying to avoid dangerous hormone injections. So does anyone think a boost is on the way e.g first grow wide then grow tall?
If you want to email me, it's surferdude861@yahoo.co.uk, not .com
One of my friends (in his 60s) had hair so yellow he was known as 'Yellow Michael' - I didn't see him for a couple of years and his hair had changed to snowy white. I asked him about it -he'd stopped smoking (he'd been a very heavy smoker) !! Whether the yellowing was caused by being in a smoke-filled atmosphere all the time or by some internal effect of the tar I don't know.
Try Nexxus Simply Silver shampoo (and, if you haven't already done so, stop smoking).
Don't smoke. Never have. Never will.
So that's my smoking theory out of the window then ! lol...
I don't smoke either. My ex-stylist (when I cut my hair) said smoking, environmental pollution, and/or diet can lead to the yellowing. She also said a there were shampoos to bring out the silver but never gave me any names.
Thankyou BRGallagher for a shampoo to do this.
I think older guys with long white/on-their-way-to-white hair looks amazing. They are so few and far between! So I'd suggest you just leave it like that :)
In fact I'm trying to get my father to grow his hair long despite his repulsion to white hair. Hope it will work.
-vincent whose hair and beard are actually redening with the summer. Pretty funny actually.
