Greetings:
Since our office is very small, I'm the honorary IT guy. Someone in our office has completely abused their computer and it's full of viruses, adware, spyware and the like. I got rid of most of it thanks to Norton Antivirus and Ad-Aware, but I'm perplexed by one issue: Every time I start Internet Explorer on the machine, it defaults to res://budos.dll/xxx.html, where xxx is some random number. Even when I change the home page under Tools --> Options, it defaults back to that .dll everytime I restart the program. First, what the heck is the res:// directory, and how do I get rid of this .dll?
Many thanks,
JBC
I have been having a problem of programs changing my home page on Internet Explorer and installing spyware on my computer too
Youll probly want to download avast! antivirus home, its free and really good. Some other good programs to get would be WinPatrol, SpySweeper, X-clean, spyware blaster, a2 scan, spybot search and destroy. Those are the best programs out there and they are all free. You could find them by typing the name into google. Another thing that may be happening is, everytime the virus/spyware is removed, it is brought back by system restore. After you finish scanning disable system restore, reboot and then enable system restore again. It may be different depending on your operating system, but if you have windows xp, just click start, right click my computer and choose properties. Under the system restore tab, put a check in the system restore box. Hope this helps.
