Have any of you guys got into some bad situations and had your hair pulled? I was watching die hard and noticed at the part when bruce was beating up the blonde haired german guy he didnt grab the hair. I wouldnt even wanna imagine getting punched in the face then tugged back by the hair (thought ive seen it happen).
Even though I have never been in a fight, and I'm not a fighter, though whenever I get into "confrontational mode," I make sure it's always pulled back in a ponytail.
I demand that you click me, and listen to Michael's piano recordings and look at his pics
I know if it is one thing someone would go for, it would be my hair. I am not a fighter anymore, but was when I had short hair. I try not to fight now, because I know if it one thing that is a downfall is longhair. That isn't the only reason I don't fight anymore though. I became more intouch with myself and realized violence only makes things worse.
It happened to me once. Someone attacked me in the street for no reason, grabbed me by the hair and punched me repeatedly. It's hard to get them off you.
I always found that when fighting, hair length wasn't so much as problem as hair getting in your eyes. Don't get me wrong I'm not a street brawler, I used to practice Karate. Whilst I only had mid-length hair at the time, I found myself battling to keep it out of my eyes and able to see during Kumite (free fighting).
I no longer train in Karate, so I guess if I'm ever confronted I do worry about the added vulnerability of giving someone something to grab onto. But there are many ways to break a grib, but a grip on hair is tricky. (If your interested,) the best way to get anyone away from you is to punch them on the end of the nose. It generally does not cause lasting damage, it causes sharp immediate pain and the eyes to water, another equivilant target is the groin. (Hey there is no such thing as a fair street fight. Fair is for boxing and martial arts. In the street you look after yourself. Yes Gents, if your attacked, kick the Guy in the nuts, trust me its no time to be proud.)
More over, I don't think you really ever want to let yourself get into a situation where your in a fight anyways, its always easier to avoid a fight than end one.
