When I first decided to grow my hair long ten years ago, I thought
it would be to just get it long enough to my shoulders for a ponytail.
Even tried to keep it styled short the sides for a clean look. When it required going longer all th way around to get the stray back hairs to keep from straying out of my ponytail, I then though it was worth letting it go longer, probably to midback, to catch it up for "all one length." Even as recently as a few years ago, I thought I might let it keep growing just until the Millennium (allowing January 2000 for the date), then perhaps have it turned into a wig that I could wear when I wanted to return to a longhair look, after returning to the shorter haired world.
Now, however, I know that, I have to simply leave it alone to grow it as long as it will. Perhaps partly because it seem to have stalled a bit around midback fo the past couple of years I've been thinking about eventual length issues again. (It's somewhat fine and wavy strawberry blond--maybe too many hairs coming lose in my board-head brush or when shampooing to keep it from growing at full speed?)
Now, however, I want it to reach as long as my ass, and will take as long as it requires to get there. (BTW, the L'Anza Long Hair shampoo-conditioner-etc system is helping it grow faster again.)
The loger I grow my hair, the better it looks and feels, and the easier it is to do different things with it. Might just change my sideburns, get another earring, or something like that, instead. . .
What are your thoughts on using the Millennium as a timepost for your hair plans?
And, while we're at it, anyone else wish to recommend that "Ron" locate the haircutting hair-fetish site for his fantasies about cutting it all off, rather than this one--? Might be more appropriate, methinks.

how long is your hair now ......Im going to grow mine to my waist and im woundering how long it will take me its about mid shoulder blade lenth now ......all one lenth
Mine seems to be stalled at the bottom of my shoulders/mid-back.
Wavy/curly texture, blond-ish, and, depending on humidity, almost to tit-length in front (if I stretch it out when wet, yes).
For me, this is probably after some six years of going to
"all one length" after a couple of years having it styled
just long in back/behind ears. Have heard the hair in back "knows"
to wait for the hair from the front and on sides to more or less
catch up (according to George Michael salon stylists, who claim to be
longhair specialsts). Seems to have been the case with me.
Then again, I had a friend with thick straight black hair (Japanese/Serbian/French heritage) who said his hair grew almost to his waist in three years. I'm still jealous.
Do you have any rituals for checking on your hair length from time to time? Enjoy "getting there."
