Hi All,
I attended a lunch with several of my elderly relatives (most in their 70's & 80's) not too long ago and am providing the contents of a letter from one of my Great Aunts. It goes as follows:
-------
Dear Peter,
I am asking your pardon for my thoughtless remark at our luncheon last Wednesday.
I am so sorry for having made such a stupid, all encompassing statement. You must know I would never have said--that I hate pony-tais--had I realized that you had one.
My version of most men with pony-tails is one in which the men are ill-kempt, very rough, dirty, and not suitable to be in polite company. You don't fit that picture.
you are always so well groomed and charming. I just never think of your being in the pony-tail category.
I want you for my friend. Please forgive me.
Aunt XXXXXXXX

So there you have it. Breaking stereotypes, changing hearts & minds one person at a time.
Just thought I'd share :-)
What a beautiful moment! And breaking all kinds of stereotypes, not the least of which are "ponytaled men" and "old poeple".
Thanks for sharing this. What a wonderful aunt she must be, and she wants to be your friend!
Robert
The sentiment's cool, but that last comment would frighten me.
LOL
Owned. :)
