I'm aware that there's been no recent pics of me yet, but I'm around Gollan's at 13 months, though after some hair math (I'm a real math wiz), I've been growing for about 11 months.
But now to the main reason for this post.
My length is at about 6 inches, so would that be appropriate ponytail length, or should I wait until the end of summer? Since this is my hair's magic hour because it's growing at an accelerating rate.
My Hair is roughly 10 inches long on top, I an I only recently began tieing a ponytail. Its still not 100% safe, but I get by with it.
Whilst the minimum length you can tie a ponytail depends on the shape of your head, I would say its pointless to try before you have 10 inches of growth as too much of your hair would fall loose of the tie.
Meanwhile there are other styles like the "half-tail", (which I still prefer,) that become practical as soon as your bangs reach your mouth which can be as little as 6 inches. Why not try these other styles out enroute?
Sorted
What are you doing? I said n/m!
Anything is appropriate as long as it can be done. No set rules when it comes to a Ponytail other than if the hair is long enough to make it.
To me it sounds at its present length that it won't quite be ready by the date you have in mind...........but never fear, that day WILL arrive and believe me, you will be "thrilled" when you can do it.
Good luck.
I'd consider appropriate ponytail length to be when you can fully tie back all of your hair at the top of the back of your head. Anything else after that is an improvement.
