Hi all:
I now have to put my hair back when I work two of my three jobs, but I was having a problem with my bangs, which are a couple of inches shy of the ponytail and therefore just hang there and look rather goofy. I tried bobby pins, but they're a pain to put in and don't hold as well as I'd like. However, this weekend I discovered the nifty clips pictured here. You just bend them and they snap open, then you press to snap them closed. The ones I got (distributed by Goody, sold at Target) are a solid matte color and pretty inconspicuous (no one's commented on them yet), plus they hold for several hours before I have to redo the 'do.
I'm rather liking the ponytail look, plus it's much cooler in this hot weather. I'll try to post pics soon.
Cheers,
Jeremy
Thanks for the review. I've been using bobby pins but they don't hold my hair very well. I've been meaning to try those wider pins. As far as them being 'accepted' the thing to remember is that hair pins and other accessories do NOT have a gender. They are made to hold long hair. Many are designed to appeal to feminine taste but if you look around you will find the more 'formal' styles feature the darker, solid colors that males prefer.
HEY! You say pins and accessories don't have gender, and then say males prefer darker, solid colors???
I happen to prefer the less conspicuous colors myself! :-P
Ok, my ponytail bands have to match my clothes, but other than that...
Well deserved.
Seriously, I screwed up. What I was *trying* to say in that butchered last line is that there are hair accessories that appeal to *all genders* (including males). I can't believe I posted something so stupid. It wasn't my intention and I am sorry.
I happen to prefer the darker colors you were talking about. I often like dark red for an accent color too :)
I know you didn't take that seriously...
*pulls out whips*
Who's next?!
*whips crack*
To make this on topic, the whips are made of genuine horse hair. LOL
Wish I had know about those when I still couldn't get all of my hair into a tail. I went the Hairpin route...........and yes, about every 2 hours or less they let go. :-(
I tell you...........the stage you are in now, (at least in my opinion) is the most "maddening" of the WHOLE Awkward stage. And it seems to go on forever. Month after month after month.
But then, (almost as if suddenly overnight) you can suddenly throw all of that stuff away.
The greatest day of all.............and you are nearing it! :-)
I use them, too. Easy to put in and stay put!
