Well, I have some rather distressing news. Although my hair is not nearly as long as some of you other guy's(In my time spent on the hyperboard I've had plenty of trims, I'm sorry to say), it looks like I may have to cut it and start all over again.
I'm filming a movie this summer with some friends, and the part I'm going to play will require me to have much shorter hair that I would like to in my normal life. So in order for me to play this role, I'm going to have to keep it down to a couple inches at the most.
Now I know a lot of you would say "Cutting your hair for a movie? No way!" but the thing to be understood is that movies are my passion, they are what I want to spend the rest of my life being involved with, and being a part of cinema is much more important to me than my personal appearance.
If I do go with short hair, I will definitely grow it out again when I go back to school in late August. And if I do cut it, maybe I will post a pic so you guys can all see where I was at.
Good luck to the rest of you.
How long is your hair now? and can u not get a wig? whats your role?
Mark
If it's a pro part, the studios don't ask if you want it cut. Actually, if he's wanting to work in film, he may as well get used to this - it's not his hair, it belongs to whoever hired him.
Your hair wasn't long anyways, so no one here really cares.
I said n/t you fools, why are you reading this?
What would you do if you had to cut your hair? Wouldn't be too happy now would you? Same goes for this person you are insulting. Don't give him such a hard time about it.
Sid,
Sounds like you know what your priorities are, and at this time, long hair would appear to stand in the way of your primary goal.
Maybe next time you will get to play the part of the long hair hero :-)
Give me a break. A movie? I had to go on camera for a sports show and interview people. And it was broadcasted throughout the area and everyone saw it. I've had to go many times before the stupid camera and I was in the "awkward stage" too.
Blah blah blah...even one show I was on was broadcasted in Ontario and New York. Everyone around the neighbour was coming up to me today and still talking about it. I don't care. At least it wasn't a hobbit day. lmfao.
Have fun filming.
wear a wig for the movie, with your real hair folded up underneath? full time actors wear wigs all the time.

The way to look at something like this is when you
are established in the acting business and reach
the level of the actor like Christopher Judge in Stargate
SG-1 you can demand and get concessions on hair. He was
tired of shaving his head so this season his character will
sport hair (not the cornrows he wanted but he will have
hair) if you believe the reports about the final season.
(RDA wants to retire, the show is ending to be
replaced by Stargate: Atlantis.)
There are many stars who have to change their appearance for roles. You shouldn't feel badly about doing this. It's a compromise you must accept for your art. And as you said, you can grow again afterward.
One thing I haven't read yet is what the movie is about? Is it a commercial film with well known actors or is it just for fun? I Like just for fun movies about myself. Currently working on one thats like an Indiana jones/treasure hunt type. Just cant seem to find a Nazi. They always have a Nazi or two in his movies. I also need some dry dirt to dig but the sky is not cooperating recently. Oh, well. Maybe I can squeeze in the beautiful sunsets somehow. Hmmm.....
