I have never had my own new post on this message board, I have only posted comments, etc. Anyhow, I just got a compliment about my hair from an older (50's)African American lady.(A customer, I work at a bank.) She said she loved it & I was looking good! That is about the fourth or fifth compliment I have received from older African American ladies in the past two months. (I'm Caucasian of Scottish descent.) She said I looked like a guy from one of her "stories" (soap operas). Somebody on Days of Our Lives! I've only been growing it for about a year, and haven't figured out how to post a picture, I do not have a web cam, but anyway, a short description. Medium Brown, wavy/curly, about 8 inches long all over, kind of a combination of Frodo from Lord of the Rings and country singer Blake Shelton if that helps any!
There are nice people out there!
I attended a 96% African-American high school. During my senior year, my hair reached elbow-length. The girls were all over me about it, because white peoples' hair tends to (or appears to, at least) grow MUCH faster. I told them I had been growing it for about three and a half years at that point, and they'd say it could take them a lifetime to reach that length...
It's kinda like they see in you something they don't THINK they can have, but they can if they just stuck it out, y'know...
...Or you just happen to have ultra-nice hair.
