I have been thinking about getting a trim since I'm going on almost a year of growth and some of the ends are getting a little split. Do you think just a little trim/shape up would do me well (less then a inch) ??
Also does your hair grow faster after a trim, esp. in the summer ?
If you're noticing some splits, just clip them. It's called dusting, and some beauticians will do it. That way you get rid of the damaged ends without taking off any real length.
There's no scientific evidence that hair grows faster after trimming, though it is true that it grows faster during certain seasons(I just can't remember which!).
I ran into split ends before, after about 2 to 3 years of growth. I had about a half an inch trimmed, then from there on out a trusted friend, who was also a stylist, would clip a very slight amount off every 3 months or so. I would suggest it, just be carefull, some stylists will tell you that you need to lose several inches to get rid of split ends.
I've also seen the "dusting" method before, it works well too, and you can even do it yourself if you can see all of your own ends.
