sorry if I bug you guys with these type of questions, I figure you'd be the best to answer.
So how does hair change as a person matures. The type of hair you're born with is pretty much what you're stuck with, but there are certain small changes I noticed. For instance it seemed to get a little thicker during puberty, now that I'm 20 it seems like it's sort of back to what it was when I was 10, which is less volume, though really you wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at it, it's something I've noticed. Does hair naturally thin out a little (I don't mean baldness) once you hit you're 20's?
During those marvelous, hormone-charged days of puberty, your hair grows faster and replaces itself more quickly, thus the thicker appearance. When you hit your twenties and the rush slacks off, your hair growth slows down a bit as well, meaning that when you lose your daily amount of hair, it takes longer for that hair to be replaced, thus the thinner appearance. During puberty, your hair also gets more nutrients, which also lessens afterwards, which may cause some hair loss. About the same thing would happen if you were to get pregnant(now there's a scenario . . . ).
Terminal length of hair tends to decrease as a person gets older. This applies to both HEAD and FACIAL hair. Absalom
You are still developing in your 20's. Your hormone levels won't begin to change (decrease) until after age 35 or so. You won't have to "worry" about change or "getting older" for quite a while. Now if you are talking about some sort of thinning due to some genetic reason then that's another matter and would be specific to you, but this is often displayed along with early hair loss.
When you start getting grey or white hairs they may be slightly different than your other hairs in their texture but I doubt that you will see any drastic changes beyond that in hair type.
In my case, during my life I have gone through several "natural" changes with my hair. Why? Heavens only knows.
When a baby it was pure white. By 5 it was a very light brown. By 15 a darker brown. By 20 a very dark brown. After that it became so dark as to almost appear black and my own mother accused me of dyeing it! Then some "hints" of grey started to appear........but now hardly of notice. Still quite dark. Perhaps because my hair is now 12-1/2" average in length so as not to be noticed? Just hope it continues and I do not run into baldness. Neither side of my family had any cases of baldness luckily.
Medically speaking, your hair goes through seven year cycles. Some people notice modest changes. Some notice more drastic changes (straight to wavy, curly to straight, etc.).
Your hair will change multiple times over your lifespan.
My own hair has changed from a light blonde, to a very dark brown that is sometimes confused for black by others.
Also, my hair is behaving *much* differently growing out this time, than last I grew it out, which is just 3-4 years ago. Back then I seriously felt like cutting it because of the awkwardness. I haven't had that inclination this time around.
Might have to do with the fact that since I started the first time, I've had 1 haircut and 2-3 trims, so I'm used to not cutting it now.
