Time for the annual maintanance appointment. But with whom?
I will be driving out of Alaska in a couple of weeks (probably
first week or two of October--weather permitting) and heading toward the Pacific Northwest, and would like to make an appointment at a GOOD hair stylist.
Time for deep conditioning, maybe some "painted in" blond highlights, a few nice braids, and to let a professional shape the sidesburns better and maybe leave part of a short goatee after a couple of weeks of on-the-road stubble, too. I'll trust a professional with a good eye for any new ideas, as long as it doesn't interfere with letting my hair grow past mid-back.
Anyone you all can recommend around Vancouver BC, Seattle, Portland, Northern California or environs?
When I've gone to a stylist, I've usually trusted and had best results from fellow longhaired men who seemed to know what they were doing with their own mane and could restrain themselves from trimming off too much of any split ends or making the end result too big or poofy.
Private replies are also welcome at tattan@gci.net before October 4.

PS -- Any other stylists out there elsewhere in the US, Canada or Europe you've had good experience with, too, dear fellow longhair aficianados? Might make for a good reference list.
Gary-Manuel Salon, Seattle. Best in town -- ask for Katherine -- be prepared to spend some serious dough.
