This whole week my hair has been nothing short of an annoyance. It's become way too dry and poofy. Do I need a deep condition?! Also my dark streaks have gotten worse. I'm still afraid of dying my hair, it looks awful! Help! ~Stressed Blonde~
If possible, just try and forget about it and just let it grow. I know it is tough as the "Awkward Stage" is just setting in.
Try to not look in the mirror every time you pass by. All going on now is normal. To worry will not help anything.
Just let your hair do its own thing. Believe me, in the end when it is long you will be thankful you didn't give in.
"If" you DO go the "Trim route" be ever so careful who does it. Sob story after sob story have appeared on this Hyperboard over the last 2 years about "trims" and what happened because the Barber or Stylist took too much off and made a super mess of everything.
Hang in there...........you have great hair to work with.
I'm never going to a barber shop. My hair would be sheared all off. I'm just ticked because of my hair color, bleaching my hair has come back to haunt me as the uneven color of orange/blonde grows out with my normal blonde, also dark roots that rest below it. I really don't know what to do.
Good news! :-)
I don't usually go out on a limb like this, but in your case I can well tell of your complete anxiety. Surely I would be feeling the same way. So, here is what I would do:
1.) Wait at least 2 more months so that enough of your "natural" hair colour can be really seen well that is growing-out at present.
2.) Potential damage and all, have it professionaly coloured to its natural colour as close as possible. A very good Stylist can hit the nail on the head almost perfectly when it comes to this. But he or she HAS to be an Artist and have a great instinct! THESE are the people that are so hard to find. Ask, hunt around............find one. They DO exist.
Be sure to use lots of conditioner like about forever after the colouring. It isn't the end of the world, but sure feels like it
I am sure. Sorry you are in this position.
But, don't be too afraid, the Sun WILL Shine............I mean really, look what the Women are always doing to their hair. And funny as it may sound, they seem to get away with everything and are doing all the "so-called" wrong things. So, why not Men? Hair is hair.
Good luck to you in whatever you decide.
Justin~
Thank you! I really appreciate it. I might just be having a bad hair week. I just got to stop thinking about the color so much. It will be better soon hopefully.
Thanks again! ~Blonde~
No problem Blonde. I think we all go through beginning phases of beating-ourselves up, finding fault and ALWAYS our own worst critics when it comes to how our hair looks.
It is interesting, but just naturally some peoples hair DOES change in colour tone all by itself as it is growing. And it wasn't even coloured! Nobody seems to give it a second thought. It "could-be" in your case to continue to just let your hair "take-off" and little by little get very very slight trims now and then over the next two years. I am sure eventually all will be a complete success for you and you will end-up very happy with long hair which will not only look great, but of which will make you happy. You might see faults because they are in your mind mostly and you want to see perfection, but others just see what you have and are totally unaware. Just Human nature I suppose. Perfection always seems to elude the perfectionist type personality.
But oh...............isn't the wait to grow your hair long a killer? It is for all of us.
