and I'll bet you didn't have much of 'bad 'experience' with your awkward phase!
Your hair looks great. The layers will really thicken up your length as they grow down. Since your goal is shoulder length are you trimming or will you wait until the shortest layer reaches shoulder length? BTW, I used to get an identical two-tone tan/no tan on my face back in my Army days when I was marching around a parade square in the hot sun. In my case the no tan part was caused by my beret (hat). Good luck with your hair goals, it looks like you are almost there!
