Bruce,
You have a really excellant beard, nicely shaped, etc. Do you do groom it yourself? If so, is there anything you do to give it that nice smooth appearance?
Thanks for the compliment, William. Every 6-8 weeks I have a professional stylist "fine tune" the regular grooming regimen I apply to my beard: daily shampooing (I do NOT use soap to clean it)and weekly trimming (with professional clippers). And I keep it long enough to comb into place. That's all.
Just wondering, is there anything that can make a beard feel like scalp hair instead of the wirey feel? Such as conditioning it enough? I know beard hair and scalp hair are two different things but just wondering thats all.
To my knowledge, there is nothing that will make beard hair feel like scalp hair.
BRGallagher,
From your picture, it dosen't appear that you have long hair. Is this true? If it is, have you ever had it?
I wear my 8-inch long hair combed back; it appears shorter than it is. At the same time, it is nowhere near (doesn't even come close to) the hairlength of most contributors (yours, for example) to this board. I never had the chance to wear it long; have had MPB since the age 21. I would certainly wear mine longer if I had it. I read and post on this board because I am a longhair-friendly men's grooming/image consultant; I like the image of healthy clean long hair on men. I encourage my clients to grow their hair; I encourage contributors to this board in a similar manner.
We all appreciate your help and insight that you share with us here. Your business is what Queer Eye and all of those other makeover groups are not - open-minded and respectful of the customer's individuality. That's too bad that you can't grow your hair any longer than eight inches. Even though you have the business and its restrictions, you really should grow yours longer if it is what you truely desire. Obviously you shouldn't be hesitent to do something that you advise others to do!
