About a month or two ago I was suffering pretty badly with split ends, I was finding them all over the place, and I was getting really worried that they were going to force me into an early trim. I decided I needed to do something to really help prevent them so the situation didn't get any worse and I think I hit upon a solution.
I figured I did the most damage to my hair when detangling knots combing out my hair. Even on wash days when I had just conditioned I was still struggling to detangle. I started to use RedKen Anti-Snap Leave In Conditioner, and since then I've noticed significantly fewer split or damaged ends, infact I couldn't find any left the other days when I checked. So this product has been a real sucess story for me.
I finger comb to loosen the major tangles, before applying the conditioner to my hands and working it into my hair whilst its still damp. It makes the remainder of the detangling much easier and combing a breeze.
I suspect you can get similiar results from using any leave in conditioner that you can apply to damp hair. But this one has worked really well for me.
Anyway, just thought I'd share because there have a been a few topics on the subject lately.

That's the same Redkin that I use. It's really good, but expensive.
