Fanatical, inaccurate in its 'facts', right-wing and militant, I hope you all get as much of a laugh out of it as I did !! Makes the Inquisition seem harmless by comparison, LOL
Yeah, I enjoy reading and listening to fanatics who get sooooo offended by long hair. No need to even consider what they say, just enjoy it.
Does it really matter if Jesus had long or short hair? As the bible says, God comes in Many Forms. However Jesus did not the follow the norm in his society. This is a known fact. He claimed he was God Son's in front of Pontius Pilate. He was a known opponent of the Roman occupation of Judea. What makes you think he would follow Roman Hairstyles. Also god never told anybody in the old Testement was bad, as long as they did not use their hair to look like a women. So Paul probally forced his own views on Men with long Hair in the bible. News Flash to Right Wing Fundementalistic christians even the catholic church admits it. The bible was written by Man. Not by god. Now some may believe the bible is divinely inspired, whether they want to believe that or not is not the issue.
It's interesting that they start out by saying that the Roman fashion of the day was short. What makes them think that Jesus would care about Roman fashion; that he would look like the occupiers?
IMHO, Jesus probably looked like the Hassidim (sp?) you see in New York City and Israel today, although he probably didn't wear a black hat. He probablly wore a turban. Picture a turbaned man with a beard and really long sideburns.
IIRC, not cutting the sideburns or "edges of the beard" *was* biblicly mandated. Tell your preacher that if he starts looking like a Hassidic Jew, you'll do it too.
Rather putting stupid stereotypes in the article and trying to break some they can't even know about. Whoever wrote this should die. lol, well sorry but someone needs to die today ;)
You're in a pleasant mood today *grins*
