Earlier this afternoon I used Nizoral for the second time, having first used it 4 days ago. I read in the leaflet that it may cause some hair loss, but I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary the other day. But today, after waiting a few hours for my hair to dry, I ran my fingers through my hair and kept pulling 1 or 2 hairs out each time. So I combed it gently, and I counted 18 fallen hairs. Combined with the finger-running, I'd guess I pulled out about 30 hairs.
Has anyone else using Nizoral had greater hair loss after washing? Would you recommend that I stop using Nizoral, or continue? There is a chance that those hairs were just weak rooted ones that will grow back stronger in a healthier scalp. I don't really wanna waste what is left in the bottle after spending £6 on it.
Thanks
Matt.
Its tough to say after only two uses both with different results. The hair loss could just be coincidental. Ive had days where I have been rubbing the oil around on my scalp and ive a large amount of hair come out somewhere around the same amount you had and then other times its 1-2 hairs.
Hi, thanks for the reply.
I just got up and there were about 10 hairs lying around, which isn't too bad but still, every time I run my fingers through my hair I pull out a hair. I am starting to wonder if I may have applied too much Nizoral - the leaflet says 'apply a small amount on the scalp and work into a lather'. It doesn't actually create a lather though, so I put very small amounts on about 5 areas of my scalp that are affected by itchiness.
When you experienced greater hair loss, did it all come out at once, or did it continue to fall hair by hair over the course of a day or so?
I am only one shampoo away from completing the initial 2 week treatment anyway, so I'll stop using Nizoral until if/when itchiness comes back.
Matt.
