Hi. Im letting my hair grow out, but I want to keep my sideburns trimed. How do I decide where the line is? I want my hair to grow long, but the little hairs that will never grow very long I want to keep short. how do you decide?
Ryan
I think your hair ends 1/4 of the way down the side of your ears, then it's like a mix of beard and hair, then eventually all beard
The line is probably at the ear lobe although you can vary it right up to the top of the ear to fit in with either what you prefer or looks best.
I always trim at the upper end of where my ears connect to my head.
My suggestion is just pick a spot and try it, if in doubt, start out lower. You can always trim them back up further if you don't like it.
I seem to be not the only one with this question so I looked around. I have noticed that women have hair to the top of the ear and then nothing since they have no beard (most of them).
Until 2 months ago I had quite long Sideburns. But something about them (because of my present hair length) suddenly just didn't seem "right" for me. So, Beard level begins now at almost above top of ear. In my eyes, this was for the better. And, to me anyway looks much better.
Ea. to their own.
