Hi all. How can I smooth out my hair in the back so it's not so big and poofy? It looks fine in the front but sometimes kind of crazy looking looking in a mirror at the back. How can i keep it down and not clumping out like this big blob on the back of my head? It's about mid back length and very thick. I also thought about thinning it out just a little bit. Is that a good option? Just a little thinning out, not a lot.

Thinning out means cutting...and you don't want to do that! I assume most of your hair is mostly one length...I think there are styling products than can help with your "problem". Try some alternatives before deciding to cut your hair...just my humble opinion.
