I've been lurking here for several months and thought I'd add some encourgement for anyone undecided about growing their hair out. I just turned 67, am retired, widowed and thinking about long hair for a couple of years or more. Last summer I finally decided "just do it". I chickened out just before Xmas but that was my last cut.
The longest hair is now just below my shoulders and the sides are a little below my jaw. Of course the front has a long way to go. My goal was a ponytail and I started tying it back as soon as I could. Of course even now it takes some gel on the sides, but it's finally getting a respectable length. I have no plans now to cut any hair at all, not until it all gets a lot longer.
I wasn't sure I'd like long hair, but it kind of grows on you. (grin) So far I like it a lot and in truth it does feel sexy and women think it's sexy, too. So I've been told more than once. I have been surprised to find that I also like it loose--the feel of it on my shoulders is great.
So that's enough for now but I want to thank the regulars here for the advice and info. So far all my questions have been aswered even before I asked them.
And, to any who havn't quite decided, my advice is "just do it!"
good for you keep growing it longer you will like it better when you can get it all in a pony tail
I dunno. I wear ponytails out of necessity, but to me there's nothing like the feeling of your hair brushing around your shoulders, or better yet, the way it feels hanging down your bare back. I love to let it hang down the back of a chair, too.
