Hi Guys
Just thought I'd share that I just found an entry in my guestbook at my website with some guy saying that "short looks better on you" I think this is quite an interesting statement because there are *no* photos at my website where I have short hair! Anyone who's ever seen me with short hair will agree with my judgement - long is best, long is forever!! Interestingly the judgement was also made that it is unprofessional.
Of course I deleted the entry!
Well he is very wrong. Long hair can be very professional. Big Time Business men (Alot of them I might at) have long and semi-long hair. It is not a matter of unprofessional, it is a matter in what industry you work in that makes it professional. You as I can clearly see, you are into the music industry, and long hair is very professional in all types of music. I might also add, your keyboards kick so much ass. You also play Bass, which is my instrument. I love the sounds that Keyboards can make. Mushroomhead has alot of good keyboard riffs and I like them mostly for that.
Thanks for your input guys, and, to Insame Dwayne, thanks for the comments about my keyboards. I guess they do look pretty good lol! What sort of music do you play - bass guitar kicks ass bigtime too. I love it.
If he's orientated to have a dislike for long haired men, he won't be coming here :P
Stuoid guy, that's all I can say. And I wonder, is he really happy with the way HE looks with short hair? I doubt he's super confident with himself.
I know that everyone will agree with me, that longer hair looks better on me too.
And how is long hair unprofessional! If it really is unnecesary, women should have to cut theirs too, after all, they dont need hair to make them feel right about themselves, and should they do, and decide to keep the hair, men should be able to make the same decision too. Sorry, gone a bit crazy there :P
Actually, a lot of women do have short hair due to the myth of only shorter hair looking professional. It turns out almost any length can be unprofessional, it is more a matter of what a person does (or fails to do) with their hair.
Unprofessional is:
hair significantly covering the eyes or face
fiddling with hair during a meeting
hair that touches others
The unintentional, natural movement of loose hair can also be visually distracting to others, or even the length itself, but I'd not see that trait as a real issue. Any employee more focused on the appearance of a coworker than on their peer's work is the unprofessional one.
Elizabeth
Ooops! Then I guess I'm really unprofessional.
- My hair nearly always covers my eyes or face.
- I always fiddle with my hair...
- My hair doesn't touch anyone else, but its probably only a matter of time before it does.
Damn... there go my plans to go corporate. :-)
*smilies to my friend Elizabeth* :-) :-) :-)
I would have done the same, and I would give no further thought to whoever commented on your Short Hair that never existed in a photo to be seen on the internet.
Just a "quack" with nothing better to do w/his time.
That's an example of an attempt at subtle social reinforcement.
Quick of you to catch it instead of replying with a thank you.
