i have been waiting 9 years for my hair to get to belt length and it still hasnt made it so i guess i am not going to make it this is depressing
Same here, I have to bend my neck backward as far as it will go for the hair to reach my belt. But then, I have to be thankful that at 61 I still have a full head of long flowing hair, with only minimal effects from male pattern baldness!
My father's 66 and has a full head of hair, no MPB at all, except he has short hair. I've been trying to encourage him to grow it. His hair grows fast too, bit like mine really.
Welcome Bob, your hair has an active growth cycle that can vary from 2 to 7 years or in rare cases even more than 7 years. Probably 95 percent of the population has a hair growth rate between 4 and 9 inches per year with 6 inches per year being average. These are the 2 main factors that affect the potential maximum length of your hair. (terminal length) These 2 factors are determined by genetics and are not controllable. Another factor outside your control is your height, the taller you are the longer your hair has to be to reach your waist. My advice to you is to is to work on the factors you can control. Try to minimize breakage by treating your hair gently. Use a good conditioner and detangler. Washing your hair less frequently can reduce breakage. Without knowing your hair type I am unable to give you more specific advice. Absalom
