Hi Everyone,
Just wondering how many of you who have long hair, get the itch to get it cut. I have had at least shoulder length hair for several years. Right now it is to about my mid back. I am not sure why, but the last couple of weeks I was thinking of going bact to the crew cut I had in the early 90's. The feeling has passed, but I was wondering if it happend to others with long term, long hair.

I had a Crew Cut myself in the 90s, when I was a boy. I liked it at the time, but I always wanted my hair long even at that time, but didn't care how I looked since I was a kid. I even as a boy had a Ponytail, though very short, but still. In the 90s it was mostly people with Mullets or Crew Cuts, and I was lucky enough to get the Crew Cut ;) I do sometimes get the itch when my hair pisses me off, but I have alot of fun with my hair, and I would never care about my hair if it was short again. Last time I cut it, I was about to cry becuase how much I missed it. It was like Phantom touch when I moved my hand anywhere my hair used to be. I missed it all so much, and I had to suffer through one of my years in school with such short and boring hair. I had 2 friends who had long hair and made me very jealous. Chris and Jesse they were awesome. I thought I was weird until I met Chris, he is a little freaky which is of course cool. Well, please Jon, don't cut your hair. You will miss it.

I think about it sometimes, but I never seriously considered it, or got the itch etc. I just want it long alot more than I want it short, and i'm sticking to that :)
very simply NO! I like it, have had it for years and it is part of me. I would get a tattoo which I personally regard as a disfigurement and cutting hair is the same.
I've been growing my hair out for 7 1/2 months and hair is just over 6 inches, and can tell you I never have the urge to cut it back to a short style. I'm only too pleased my hair is co-operating and growing out fast for me.
I said NT! :)
Nah, can't live without it.
I'm not a "long termer", in fact I've only been growing 18 months but everytime I think about cutting my hair I remember how much I hated it short. Even on nights like tonight when my hair is all over the place, I still like it much better than I did when it was short.
Sorted
I said a couple of threads down how I kind of go in cycles of long and short hair. However, having looked at some pics of me with short hair, I've decided to keep it long...

Me after:

Seriously dude, don't do it. You just KNOW you'll end up regretting it, and then you'll just have to go through the awkward phase all over again. Keep it long, keep it strong, m'man.
Early on, during some of those famous 'awkward stages' did
I ever have any 'serious' doubts about growing my hair out...
and maybe of getting it cut.
Those times were very difficult, and there was absolutely nobody I
could ask for help. Why? Because they would have all told me to cut it.
Time passed slowly...and the longer my hair got, the
less I would think about whether or not I was doing the 'right' thing.
Now, I wouldn't even consider cutting my hair. In fact the thought
doesn't even enter my consciousness anymore.
My hair is my 'constant companion';
my hair is me.
I've never really ever had the urge to get it cut. A slight trim when I'm really annoyed whenever it gets really tangled, but no. I'm gonna let my aunt do my trims for now on, cause she knows what I want outta this.
No. I like long hair. I don't mind short hair on others, but I prefer long.
I have thought about trimming it back to waist length on a few occasions. I usually think about something else until the thought goes away. My hair is a real attention getter due to its extreme length (Click on my photo to see just how long.) and I like all the positive comments it generates. Absalom
Nah. It's taken about 2 years for me to get it mid-back, so Ima going to keep it while I still like it.
I have had short hair and long hair. I think that variety is the spice of life and getting it cut short and growing back is cool. Right now I am growing my hair back and I am glad I grew it out and then cut it off. I think that people who always have long hair and never cut it off are missing out and people who always have short hair and never grow it out are too.
Speaking from someone who has had longish to downright long hair all his life...........can't say if it was an "itch" or desire to see what a short haircut would do for me 2 Summers ago. (It was a terrible mistake.) It just wasn't me and the minute that haircut was over all I wanted to do was vomit.
NEVER AGAIN............it's growing and IS somewhat long again after 2 years at 13." The only thing that would make me start to cut it were if it was to actually reach the ground and I was tripping over it all the time! lol
I never get an itch to cut...........ever.
That little feeling is the reason I didn't start getting long hair until 2001. I would always start, but then decide to cut it off in the awkward stage. This time around I'm not really having any thoughts about cutting it (at least not yet). But then, I was never one to get it cut very regularly, I usually just let it grow until it was too much for me.
I made up my mind about it a long time ago.
Kind of not exactly want to cut it short but if i have a par of scisors sometimes i just want to chop of my bangs it is really really wiered!!
I don't remember ever wanting to cut my hair.
