Okay, here's the skinny on my neck.
I have terrible acne on the back of my neck. All the medicines I have tried do not work but I am using a Gillette wash to keep it clean and not oily.
Anyway, I wonder if the acne is interfering with the growth of the hair on the back of my neck.
Also, the hair on the back of my neck right below my ears is only about four inches long due to a shaving accident a good while back. I am going to totally leave my hair (including neck hair) alone for at least another year (for six inches). Rest of the hair looks good.
Basically, when I pull all the hair up and brush my neck a little bit, I end up with the lowest layers of hair (lower than the ears) only about 2-4 inches long and some right on the scruff buzzed to 1/2 inch or less! No more shaving my neck at all!
I would GREATLY appreciate it if some of you guys that don't mess with your neck would pull all your hair up and let me see your neckline. I know it's awkward, but have someone else take the picture or something...
I heard that some of the hair on your neck never gets really long like the rest of it.
Please try to clear up my confusion.
Many thousands of thanks,
Ivix
Not so for me. Some of the hair strands on my neck exceed 2 feet long. Others are a foot or so. I did trim some of them until maybe 2 years ago. Absalom
Here is a picture of my neck that went unshaved for many months. The hairs are as long as they get. Lately I've been using a beard trimmer to trim the hairs. It is faster and I think the result looks a little more realistic. Have you been to a dermatologist about your acne? If you get one who tells you to just 'live with it' I suggest you find another one.

I find that the maximum length or Terminal length of my hair is not the same in all locations. It tends to be shortest at the back of the neck and near the side by my ears, somewhat long above my ears, longer on top and in front and longest on the back and sides of the head. Some people trim or shave the short hairs on the back of the neck, especially if they often tie their hair into a pony tail.
About acne, I find that I'm more likely to get acne when I don't drink enough water--about 8 glasses a day. Because everybody is different and the types of minerals in water very from place to place, it may help some people but not others to drink the right amount of water each day.
