Hello everyone, I hope this is interesting, please forgive the slightly long post. And it IS about hair, just not at the first part! Read on...
I was starting to wonder lately how much very little differences make in the overall scheme of things. What struck my mind was this: While I was away at school for the year, I started to work out by the second half of it. Now that I am home, it is very slightly starting to show that I've been working out, like there is a slight bit of extra mass in my arms, little bit more definition in my abs, etc.
Now the thing is, these are all very slight changes, and yet, people have noticed without my even saying so. And when I think about it, even with these little differences, I think I look a lot better.
So what I was thinking of, is does this apply to our hair as well? If it shines just a slight bit more, will that make it look much better? If it feels a little more smooth, or smells a tad better, does that really mean that much? Will a little less frizz make the call between okay and great hair?
I think about times when it seems to shine a little more, or lay down a little better, and how although it may not be that different from how it usually is, it sure makes it seem like the diffeence between night and day in my book. Funny how little things go such a long way...
Do you guys find that these slight things really matter that much? Discuss...
How much better it looks to others is secondary if not beside the point altogether (of course many people do put looks first).
What is important is how healthy it is. Are things you are doing differently actually providing better care for your hair and if so then the better looking results may be an indicator of this.
Why is this a good way to look at it? Because if you want longhair and want it to be around a long time (and would like it to look good after being around a long time) then this mindset will serve you well.
Everybody's hair tends to be different so make sure that you learn to compare your own hair with itself over time (taking note of the different things you may do) and not other's. Your hair will be as truely great as it can depending on how you take care of it.
(call it part of developing a hair philosophy)
