Hi Folks,
Its been a while since my last post. Been so busy but I still take the time to look at the posts every day, the
board being my home page. Well its been 25 months since my last cut; no trims.
My (real) hair, whats left
on the sides is 14 inches long. The pics with the light blue T-shirt shows my hair wet, just out of the shower.
For those who dont know, Ive been wearing a hairpiece. Started with a short one; now I wear one thats 24 inches long. Its not a wig; it just covers the bald spot. My real hair blends in with the hair from the HP.
Im a 48 year old accountant working for an architectural firm. I wear my hair tied as shown in the pics. I use 2 ties, the bottom one is where my real hair is now at. Keeps the flyaways at bay.
Any question? Comments? Be my guest.
Yeah, lose the hair piece. You look better without it, and I think your hair is long enough that you know longer need the feaux look to feel like a longhair.
Grats!
I'll second that. IMO, you could try wearing your hair in a braid, which would compliment your look and go well with the receding hairline.
The hairpiece is obviously very good quality and looks great. It's not what I'd do myself but that wasn't what you were asking !!
Looks awesome! The waves and curls at the lower ends of your hair are very unique. Keep it going, or leave it that length, both look awesome.
Wow, photo number 4 is absoutely phenominal. That is a very well engineered hairpiece. It blends incredibly well with your natural hair. It fits seamlessly, I don't think anyone could ever tell, it looks completely natural. Absalom
Pictures #4 and #5 look very nice!
If I was to ever start to go bald, I'd do this.
Link messed up.
Looks awesome marc! Where did you find the 24" hair piece?
I would love to add something that length
or longer to my hair. I have some balding on the back and and think after 4 years I have reached terminal
length for my own hair. My hairdresser says that the hair enhancements are not available in lenghts over 12"
and bonded extensions would not work for me because my hair is very fine.
you can reply here or via
email about this. thanks
Pics 6 7 and 8 look awesome!!
And pic 9, forgot to say!
Marc your hair looks great in all the pictures. Your willingness to show pictures with and without the hairpiece will certainly help a lot of guys see their options. Nice to see you around. Thanks for the update.
Although you don't look bad with the piece I pesonally think you look much better without it. It's just more natuaral. But I tend to dislike anything fake about ones appearance. Also I think you looked much better when your hair was shorter and you had the shorter piece, like in the pic that shows up when you post. That look suits you VERY well.
Wow! And I especially like the 'sectioned tail' & the braid.
Hi Marc
Well First off let me say, that the hair piece works really well for you, I never actually realised it wasn't your own hair, very natural.
The only thing I don't really get is you say
But your hair piece is 10 inches longer than your real hair, and your natural hair seems pretty wavy yet the hair we see is super straight. So I get the impression its more HP than hair which we see, so how preciesly does it "blend"?
I do have another few questions, and I mean no offence by them, but do you not now feel trapped by the hair piece? I mean if you decided to go natural, it would be a very big shock for your friends and colleagues to take in? Now you've gone this far without showing your true hairline, you're kinda stuck with the illusion aren't you? Or could quite happily throw the Hair Piece away tomorrow if the mood struck you?
Just curious...though personally I think it looks great!
Sorted
I think all the pictures look pretty good, with and without the hairpiece. If you want to see someone with similar hair to yours', without any hairpiece, check out the guitarist/singer Devin Townsend from a band called Strapping YOung Lad. He's much younger, I think a little over 30, and he makes his look work very well. People love him! Or maybe you already know of him

Marc-
It looks great! Don't be annoyed by those who say to lose the hairpiece--you have to do what YOU
want to do! Some of us do not like the long-bald look and you don't have to live with it, as you have
demonstrated!

Your hair looks awesome - both with the hairpiece and without it.
I for myself would settle for the all-natural look (without hairpieces or wigs); fortunately I still have all my hair - which I am keeping all-natural, i.e. no haircuts in more than 15 years.
A question: what will you do when your natural hair grows beyond the length of the hairpiece - trim it to match the hairpiece, or get a longer hairpiece?
A Linux Longhair
Answer:
Trim it to match the HP. Unfortunately they don't come any longer than 26 inches.
Marc, if it interests you, perhaps they could make one longer if you provided the hair. Ponytails of real hair are sold lots of places online. I assume the manufacturer colors the HP to match you anyway so a perfect match would not be necessary.
Elizabeth, happy fan of your braid photo and also the one showing braid waves
Hello Marc,I've seen you in the directory, no posts I can recall since I've been here.
Nice looking hair, both natural and supplemented. The hair piece seems to work very well for you, although I think you natural hair alone looks great too, couldn't blame you a bit for choosing either style.
It's nice to see longhairs with professional/white collar jobs, since I have one myself, my only concern with keeping it is the risk of objections at work, but I think I'm in a situation now where that can be handled.
