Ok,
So, after shaving my head, on and off, for six years, I have decided to grow my hair. I had long hair about ten years ago, but cut it when it started to thin. In the following years I did not loose as much as I thought I would, and decided that I might as well give it a try.
So, I am currently at like 1/8"...
I NEED HEAPS OF ENCOURAGEMENT!!!!!
The clippers and razors are away.
Only thing, I have a pretty big beard, that I don't want to cut. Do you think that long hair + long beard = overkill?

You will look good with long hair. Why not do a computer simulation to see what you might look like in two years time.

Steve, you know how I feel. I love my long hair and am hoping my beard will get as big and bushy as yours. Who knows--in a couple of years we might be twins!

I don't think that having that GREAT beard, and long hair will be overkill. I'm currently growing my beard out (even more than ever, take a look at the link), in addition to letting my hair grow out. My hair is now about 1" above my shoulders (maybe a bit shorter than that, actually) but I really really want to grow it out so it goes down my back a bit (and I can wear it in a ponytail). If you need encouragement, you've got it!
