I'm thinking of straightening my hair. Is this a bad idea since my hair has been chemically treated before? Also my hair is growing good. I've never have or don't remember when my hair could be felt against my neck and it feels cool, lol.

Last one, lol. I like this one better.
It depends. What is your goal length? If it's longer than shoulder-length, don't do it. If shorter than shoulder length, your hair should be able to withstand anything. Do with it what you wish.
A bad idea indeed if you are planning on achieving really long hair. But if you DO straighten, use LOTS of Conditioner when washing plus have "Leave-in-Conditioner" in your hair all the time to help as best as it can to off-set the damage done to the hair.
Yea..........doesn't it feel great against the neck! :-)
Before doing anything, it might be a good idea to ask a bunch of Girls with really Long Hair just what they do to theirs. Strange as it may seem, (at least to myself), the Women seem to be able to do anything to their hair and for the most part it always looks fine. So.........................why not Men? Afterall, Hair is Hair.
Good luck. You have super great hair to work with.
Straightening hair in moderation is OK - if it becomes a regular habit then you are probably gonna notice a lot of damage by the time your hair gets really long (Past Shoulder Length). But if your target is just for Shoulder length then you should be OK, but like Justin says you need to use plenty of Conditoner, perhaps even one formulated to protect hair during straightening.
Redken do a leave in conditioner called Heat Protect. Its designed to protect hair before straightening or heavy blow drying.
More over its important that if you straighten your hair you do it right. Dry your hair COMPLETELY before you begin straightening, use a ceramic iron and don't hold the clamps still on the hair, keep it moving from roots to tips.

Yes, "please" heed the advice of Sorted. I don't think you can go wrong if you do.
Thank you Sorted for the additional in-put.

I'm not sure why you want to straighten your hair, since it already looks very straight to me. I think it looks better the way it is than if you were to make it perfectly straight.
If you bleached your hair that weakens it, so it would be more easily damaged by any kind of abuse. Definitely if you're going to use a straightening iron, first put something on your hair to protected it from the heat. I use straightening balm on my hair.
