My hair is well into my shoulder blades and all one length. It is straight and I mostly wear it in a ponytail during the day. I have had it long for about five years now, but have never really done anything with it. Now I am getting a bit fed up with the length and my boring hairstyle. I don't really want to get much of the length cut out, but I need suggestions for a style that I can wear loose, but is also versatile so that I can do different things to it. In particular I am thinking of cutting my hair drastically at the front into some bangs arounf nose length or shorter.. Has anybody got any ideas for styles or cutting suggestions.
I would suggest you to braid your hair or perhaps you could wear a mullet (short in the front and sides and long at the back). i don't know what else to say because my hair is short. Good luck!

I wouldn't do anything that you might regret later(been there, done that). If you want a change, try having your hair permed. This will give you curls and give you a new look.It took you this long to grow it,don't cut it off.Long Hair Rules!!!
Hawkman
The first thing that I would do Greg is try to take some weight out of your hair. Go for a long layered look which is very fashionable at the moment while keeping the same overall length. Also I would go with chopping your bangs, but graduate some layering into the front and sides and keep some wispy bits to frame you face. See how this goes. It wont be too drastic and if you want, you only need to grow the bangs again. Maybe after this consider a perm as Hawkman suggests, but you may get enough movement just from the layers.
Let us know how you get on, or if you want any more input.
Cath
Don't perm it and don't get a mullet! The mullet is hideous. Curls are ugly; I know because I am cursed with having natural ones. Straight hair is nice; you should keep yours that way, whatever you do.
Don't do it, Greg. Don't change anything. Leave you hair alone. It sounds beautiful. I think Cath's suggestion is a terrible one. "Layering" is the first step toward a crewcut!! In all seriousness, it will be much harder to care for--if you want it to look nice. I strongly suggest leaving it along--unless you want to give up long hair completely. I think guys look great with long straight hair (that can be pulled back in a ponytail for convenience). Once it is layered or there are bangs or ......, it starts to look bad most of the time because most guys will not spend a lot of time making sure it's "perfectly" styled every day.
