Can anyone explain to me the benefits of this process? Using conditioner first, then shampoo, then condition again. How many people here do it and how and why does it work? Thanks.
I dont see hw it would work you would be attempting to replace oil that you hadnt lost yet. Then you would shampoo and loose your hair oil plus whatever benefits the conditioner would have given then you would condition again seems pointless to me.
Rather pointless, and a good waste of conditioner. But hey, to each their own.
I have done the WASH - WASH - CONDITION thing but
I don't really believe in the CONDITION - WASH - CONDITION routine.

The idea is to coat your wet length below the ears or jawline with conditioner and LEAVE IT ON THERE while you use shampoo on your scalp only. The coating of conditioner protects your length from the drying effects of the shampoo. Then you rinse everything off at once, and apply conditioner and rinse a second time in the usual manner. It is very effective in helping prevent dryness of the length, providing you have hair the falls below the lowest point of your scalp. If your first application of conditioner is on the hair over your scalp, your shampoo won't foam enough to get down to the scalp.
Does that make sense? If you need clarification, let me know.
Interesting approach, I'll have to try it. I sometimes do something similar, although it started by accident. I'll use Jojoba oil, often in small amounts, but occasionally I go heavy with it, maybe at night, then wash it off in the morning, but with a normal/light amount of shampoo. I figure that the heavy coat of oil will protect my ends from the shampoo while letting me get the scalp clean.
It does make sense, but one other thing- Right now my hair is pretty short, at only about 2 inches(I had to cut it for a movie). But I do want to grow my hair long again, and this time I am going to take the best care of it I can while growing it out.
So would you say that I should still try covering my hair in conditioner and shampoo, rinsing, and then conditioning again? I wonder how it would work at my length. My hair is dry, so perhaps it would give me something to wash out.
I am presently doing it this way and it is working great. The benefits for myself have been absence of tangles and hair breakage. The hair never looked better nor felt better. Alas, I don't know why it works, but it does wonders for me. I use:
1.) Hot Oil
2.) Kids Shampoo
3.) Aussie Leave-in Conditioner
At my present length my hair receives this treatment once a week.
