Greetings:
I'm going to see Madonna in concert Saturday night, and I think it'd be fun to go punk. With my hair the length it is, I think I could get a killer mohawk, but I have no idea what products to use. Any idea what products will make my hair ultra-stiff and protect against the Atlanta humidity?
Cheers,
JBC
eh...as for as mowhawks go, elmers glue...or styling glue. I wouldn't really advise it unless your not overly concearned with damage or anything. That and its a pain in the but to get out.
Ya I know people who use it as well Nothing works better then it but it might not be worth the hassel to get it out.
The punks I know don't use hair products - they use soap. They fill a basin with hot water and leave a bar of soap in it for hours til it turns reeeeallly soft, the style using it, as it hardens best when it gets cool again. Easily washed out with warm water too.

For sheer durability and amazing results, I suggest using Bed Head products by TIGI. They can bought at most grocery stores and beauty supply shops. Specifically, Maxxed Out Massive Hold Hairspray. All the Bed head products are high quality and have a pleasant smell. However, they are a bit pricey, running around $15-20 an item.
An alternative would be Aquanet. It is inexpensive and comes in BIG cannisters.
If you need detailed instructions to achieve an awesome mohawk, I have a 7-page tutorial available via "snail mail".
or i hear gelatine is widely used among punks for that rock hard crispy gravity defying style
Easy solution: Elmers Glue! Good luck.
Years ago I went to the Roskilde rock festival (in Denmark) together with a few friends. One of them wanted to get his hair done into a mohawk and asked us for advice. I suggested him to put sugar in his hair. The result wasn't as he expected, but he became very popular at the festival - with the local bees and flies...

In my experience, the best things to use are bees wax(yes they sell it and it is one of the best things out there to use, usually you have to buy onlne or if you can find a store that carries it thats great)..
or worse comes to worse elmers glue is actually very good
Beesawax is also great for a handlebar mustache or melting it down to line that new canteen of yours so that the water don't go brown.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Putting Elmer's glue in my hair gives me pause, but beeswax is a definite maybe. However, I've decided with my hair the length it is, a mohawk may not be the best choice when there will be people behind me trying to watch the show. (After all, my mohawk would be about a foot high.) I'm certainly filing this idea away for Halloween, though.
Express yourself, let your body move to the music, and all those other Madonna-isms...

Ha ha ha! I like Madonna's music too, about one of very few pop artists I actually enjoy listening to.
Her best song in my opinion is Frozen and The Power of Goodbye, and the guy's hair in that video was stunning! I think that's the first thing that made me grew my hair.
