Does anyone have this problem: my hair at the sides (to about 1" back from the hairline) does not grow long. Because I have almost curly hair, particularly when it's shorter, this hair fluffs out quite a bit. I don't have a pic to show you but think of that hair at the back of your neck and picture it at the temples. This also happens at the hairline on my forehead, for 1/3". My hair has been growing for three years now. Also, I am not balding.
What can I do? It ruins my pony tail :)
Thanks for your help.

Huey,
I have similar situation, though my hair is not curly. I have always just used a little something to smoothe down those hairs. Until recently, it was just a little spritz of Aussie spray. I use the Aussie shampoo, and it seems good for my hair. However, I just came across this stuff called Silk Therapy, and am beginning to experiment with it. It really seems to make the fly aways lay down and blend in.

Yeah, same thing with me. I can't stand it. But the weirdest thing, is that i never used to have that problem, those hairs(at the temples and neck) would always grow long up until they were shaved back in '99 because the barber screwed up and went too high. Since then, they've only grown to about 2 inches and won't grow any more. It really sucks, because if i had that length, my hair would appear thicker.
The hair where you describe grows long like the rest of my hair for me. Maybe not as long as the rest, but it's just growing a bit slower. My hair is just about reaching upper lip btw.
I had the same problem after an accident in 1990 (I was hit by a car whose drunk driver had lost control); a good chunk of the skin on my left temple was scraped when I landed hard on the asphalt. The hair on that patch remained short for several years, but eventually grew to its normal length. I had the same problem (shorter hair sticking out) until 1994 or 1995.
