Picture Purged
Well I've been growing out my hair since the beginning of January and the last haircut I had my hair was really short. Right now I'm in the awkward stage and tonight I tried slicking back my hair kinda like the Steven Seagal look. I think it will be better for me to wear my hair like this for now until it gets longer since I have to get a job soon and I want to look professional. I can't wait until it gets longer...I want my hair to be at least shoulder length if not longer.
That's great length for such a short time of growing your hair. I suggest if you wish to look professional don't tie it at this length. it just doesn't look right, but slicking it back will do just fine.
Hi,
I can understand when going to interviews you would like to look professional. I do have one question though...when you tie your hair back, what type of band do you use?
The reason I ask is because certain bands tend to damage the hair.
Friction is responsible for more damage than most people realize. Other physical damage can result from abrasion from rubber bands, barrettes and other accessories. Excessive brushing and tearing of the hair causes damage (this can also come from constantly pulling it back in rubber bands)and tend to break or split hair.
But if you are currently using a scrunchy or a fabric coated elastic band, then you're using the good ones.
Anyways, just thought I'd share this.
Your hair looks great btw, keep up the good work!

I'll second the recommendation on slicking it back but not tying. I work in a "professional" office envrionment myself, and almost one year into growth, just recently started slicking it back. The back of my hair it just at the top of my shoulders, so it doesn't look very long when hanging, but a short ponytail tends to stick out, somewhat high in the air, actually calling more attention to itself.
Good luck on growing and finding a job.
Looks excellent!
Suits you too.
I had to do this too but it didn't look anywhere near as good as yours!
Great!!!!!!!!
Looks like your decision is perfect to get you through the "Awkward Stage."
