Hi Mary,
You posted something in my subject about "Condition-Wash-Conditioning," and I replied, but I fear it is too far down to have been noticed again. Anyway, here's what I responded with exactly:
It does make sense, but one other thing- Right now my hair is pretty short, at only about 2 inches(I had to cut it for a movie). But I do want to grow my hair long again, and this time I am going to take the best care of it I can while growing it out.
So would you say that I should still try covering my hair in conditioner and shampoo, rinsing, and then conditioning again? I wonder how it would work at my length. My hair is dry, so perhaps it would give me something to wash out.
With hair that short, I would think that CWC technique is not really necessary, and would not really be effective. The conditioner on and near your scalp prevents the shampoo from foaming up and cleaning your scalp well. You definitely want to keep your scalp clean, because if your follicles become clogged with oil (sebum or conditioners), hairs can be released before terminal length.
So, I would say wait until your hair is below your ears to use CWC, and in the meantime, just shampoo and condition.
Hope that helps.
