I posted in August about my hair getting caught in collar of dress shirts at work. After good information from others who have had this problem, I have passed this annoying stage. I did see my stylist for a slight trim. After lightly trimming the ends, he suggested that we let well enough alone. I am still considering a ponytail, and as time goes on it is becoming more of a possibility. Thanks for the support!
how long is your hair now ..........dont get it cut for at least 6 mounths .......when you can put it in a ponytail you will like it alot more.......the longer it gets the more i like mine and the easyer it is to handle...............keep it growing
It's only about 4 1/2" long, so I've got awhile before a ponytail will look good. At what length have others found that a ponytail works and doesn't look silly?
Depends on where you wear the hair tie on the back of your head, mid way down or low near the neck hairline. Also depends on whether you what the dry look or gel head (a.k.a. turtle shell head look.) I was a little impatient in the beginning and attempted wearing my hair back with lengths as short as 8", I needed way too much Salon Selective's 15 Firm Hold Gel. By time my hair was a good foot I had a nice tail and that was tied mid way down the back of my head, (like some woman wear their hairs) still with some gel on the sides. I waited for another 2 inches (14" for longest hairs and then the hair ties at the neckline with a little gel. for the shorter pieces.) Note this includes the bangs, all one length. Wait even longer 16"-17" for the longest hairs and now you can go without gel, tie at the neck line and hang up side down, flip your head left, right and even tolerate a little 10 mph wind and still the hair stays in place...awesome!!! Then after that you start pulling your hairs when you sit down in chairs, it gets caught in you arm pits and other problems like Victor mentioned in one of his earlier messages, e.g. car doors and seat belt fasteners. I've also heard of people finding their butt length hair gets in the way of bathroom duties as well. So hair length does not end at ponytail length. Let it grow, let it grow, let it grow...
Peace
